Refund & Dispute Policy
Last updated: January 2026
1. General Refund Eligibility
Orbit wants every transaction on the platform — whether it's a tip to a creator, a ticket to a live event, or a subscription to exclusive content — to feel fair and trustworthy. Refund eligibility depends on the type of purchase you made, described in detail below. As a general rule, refunds are only available for genuine technical failures, billing errors, or the specific circumstances outlined in this policy. Refunds are not available simply because you changed your mind after receiving what you paid for.
To request a refund, contact Orbit support with your order or transaction ID, the date of the purchase, and a description of the issue. Most requests are triaged within 48 hours (see Section 5, Dispute Process).
2. Fan Transaction Refunds (Tips, Tickets & Content Unlocks)
This section covers one-time fan purchases: creator tips, live-event tickets, and paid content unlocks.
- 7-day technical issue window: If a payment failed to process correctly, was charged more than once for the same purchase, or you were unable to access the content/stream/event you paid for due to a verified technical fault on Orbit's side, you may request a refund within 7 days of the transaction date.
- No refunds for completed streams: Tips sent during a live stream, and tickets or unlocks for a stream or event that has already completed and was successfully delivered, are final and non-refundable. Once a stream has ended and the content was accessible as described, the transaction is considered fulfilled.
- Requests submitted outside the 7-day technical issue window, or for reasons unrelated to a technical failure (e.g. simply not enjoying the content), will not be eligible for a refund.
3. Creator Subscription Refunds
Fan subscriptions to a creator's exclusive content are billed at $29/month.
- If you cancel a subscription, you may request a prorated refund for the unused portion of the current billing period, provided the request is made within 14 days of the most recent charge and you have not substantially used the subscription (e.g. viewed the majority of that period's exclusive content).
- Proration is calculated based on the number of full days remaining in the current 30-day billing cycle at the time of your request.
- Requests made after 14 days from the charge date, or where the subscription content was substantially consumed, are not eligible for a refund, though you may still cancel to prevent future billing.
4. Event Cancellation Refunds
- Creator cancels an event: If a creator cancels a scheduled event or class, all fans who purchased a ticket are automatically refunded in full — no request is necessary.
- Orbit cancels for a policy violation: If Orbit cancels an event because the creator violated platform policy, all ticket holders receive a full refund and are notified directly of the cancellation and the reason it occurred.
- Automatic refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
5. Dispute Process
If you believe a charge was made in error, or you disagree with a refund decision, you can open a dispute directly with Orbit support before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer.
- Submit a dispute with your transaction details and a description of the issue.
- Orbit reviews every dispute within 48 hours of submission and will respond with a decision or a request for additional information.
- If a dispute involves a creator (e.g. a tip, subscription, or event ticket), Orbit may reach out to the creator for context before making a final determination.
6. Chargeback Handling
We ask that you contact Orbit support and go through the dispute process above before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer — most issues can be resolved faster this way.
- If a chargeback is filed, Orbit will submit transaction records and any relevant evidence (delivery confirmation, access logs, prior support correspondence) to the payment processor as part of the standard chargeback review.
- Accounts with a pattern of unwarranted chargebacks may have their ability to make future purchases restricted or suspended, at Orbit's discretion, to protect creators from fraudulent reversals.
- Chargebacks filed for transactions that were already refunded through Orbit will be contested with the processor using proof of the existing refund.
Questions about a specific transaction? Contact Orbit support with your transaction ID and we'll get back to you as part of our standard 48-hour review window.
